This diverse ecosystem is one of the most magnificent places on Earth; it is home to over 1500 species of fish, it’s a vital component of Australia’s fisheries and it generates over $6 billion in tourism annually. But the reef is dying. This natural wonder is under threat of mining, pollution and global warming. Its coral is bleaching before our eyes. Yet the Australian government continues to support mining instead of prioritising the wellbeing of the Great Barrier Reef. This video is about the small things YOU can do every day to save the reef. We want to equip you with the knowledge to change your everyday behaviours so that you can minimise your impact upon our oceans. These 6 simple steps will enable you to reduce pollution, improve water quality, limit your carbon footprint and minimise your impact upon global warming. We want to save the oceans. We want to save the reef. Follow the steps outlined in this video and you can make a real difference. Yes, you’re only one individual.
