DFC2012 Portugal : Abandono E Insucesso Escolar

Winner of the DFC Portugal School Challenge 2011/2012!! In a school where pupils' lack of discipline is a big issue, the school's principal Dr. Manuel António Oliveira, challenged students to find the solution to this major problem. Therefore an 11th grade class decided to create a students' representative office in order to improve students' behavior and performance. The students' representative office has three main programs: peer mentoring, peer support in study, projects and ideas. All the programs are developed by ten students from 11 to 18 years old, with teachers' guidance. The students received 1500 USD in furniture and 1500 USD in electronic equipment for their project!
