Follow us on Facebook:   / gamerutips   Welcome to GamerU’s guide on the Conquest game mode in Smite, the standard and most competitive map available to players. Conquest features two teams with five members each, fighting it out across three lanes and a jungle to push down the enemy base and achieve victory. Each player begins at level one and with 1500 gold, so make sure to choose your starting items and skill wisely. As for team composition, the most typical setup is a mage in the middle lane, an assassin who roams the jungle, a hunter and a guardian in the long lane, and a warrior in the short lane; however, variations are plentiful and depending on the level of play success can be found through a variety of alternatives. Each team has a damage camp, a speed camp, and two mana camps on their half of the map. These camps can be slain to obtain a temporary buff. EXP camps exist as well, mostly for the sake of leveling up your jungler, but can be slain by anyone. Destroying enemy towers is the primary objective, and after both towers in a lane are destroyed, the enemy phoenix for that lane can be taken down. Slaying a phoenix empowers the minions spawned in that lane, allowing them to push faster, and exposes the enemy titan; be aware, however, that a phoenix will attack you if you have no minion wave, like turrets, but will regenerate health over time and even eventually re-spawn (unlike turrets). Two other important objectives to be aware of are the Gold Fury and the Fire Giant. The Gold Fury awards a significant amount of global gold to your team, and the Fire Giant gives your team a powerful buff. Defeating these intimidating foes can lead to a sizable advantage for your team, or even allow for a surprising comeback.
