Using the Tank Cemetery, France, this extended video aims to show the common features of Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) Cemetery. Unlike American cemeteries in Europe where the fallen (not returned to the United States) were brought together from miles around, the CWGC cemeteries were often built close to the front lines where the soldiers fell. Soon after the relevent War, some small cemeteries were closed and the graves moved to larger ones. In many cases though, small cemeteries simply stayed where they were and farmers simply worked around them. The Tank Cemetery near Guemappe is an example. Location: 50.25674 2.87967
