The small town receives heavy snowfall in the months of January and February and the entire place gets buried deep under a sheet of white. The 1st phase of the Gondola takes tourists to the height of 8530 ft to Kongdori Station and the second stage of the Gondola goes up to the height of 12293 ft. ON THE WAY FROM SRINAGAR TO GULMARG A Must Visit frozen waterfall in a village called “Drung” which is in Tangmarg. The Drung Waterfall is approximately 50 km away from the capital city of Srinagar and can be reached via car/taxi is about 1 hour 30 minutes. Hire a car from Tangmarg (chained car) for Gulmarg. On the way, ask your driver to take you to Drung. Make sure you are going with an experienced local driver as a very narrow road takes you to this waterfall which makes it very risky as there can be only one car at a time.
