This video is is about how to get to Alishan from Chiayi city via public bus The one-way fare is NT$240 (K25) if you travel on the public transport like the locals do from the bus station which is near the fron train station in Chiayi city . The best way to travel is top up your easy card you can get this easy card in all the convenient stores like 7-11s, Family Mart etc. The journey took about 2 hours and 10 minutes and not 6 or 8 hrs as shown in google maps 😂😂 . The view along the road is beautiful and similar to Papua New Guinea where I come from especially the scenery you get from Hagen to Wabag as you come nearer to Alishan. After arriving at the Alishan Transport Station (Bus station) before you enter the Alishan Forest Recreation area you have to pay entrance fee of NT150 that price is for international students or foreigners who live in Taiwan. There 3 vending machines located inside the Transport station. Or like me walk about a minute up to the entrance of the Alishan Forest Recreational area and pay the fees on the counter. They will give a map of the Alishan Forest Recreational area. It's dominated by the Alishan Mountains, which feature cloud-ringed peaks and green valleys. The area is home to Tsou aboriginal villages, known for tea production. A narrow-gauge train, part of the Alishan Forest Railway, runs through high-altitude forests. The Giant Tree Plank Trail boardwalk winds past huge cypress trees, including the fallen Alishan Sacred Tree. Accomodation: There are not many hotels here so its expensive speaking as a student 😊. So, to get affordable deals you have to book early like one or two weeks in advance through Agoda or those other online booking sites, anyway I booked online through Agoda https://www.agoda.com/ali-shan-dengsh... stayed at the Alishan Dengshan Hotel which was close to the Alisha train station and the Information bus station and shops nearby, so it was convenient for me.
