Everchanging Pacific Northwest PNW trails. It's like a new journey each time! These peaceful winter wilderness scenes (sights and sound) were taken from several locations along the Oxbow Lake Loop Trail in North Bend, Washington State. My initial vision for this hike was to assess the impact of the recent blizzard along the Middle Fork and Pratt River Trails. This turned out to be a bit of a challenge! The Middle Fork Forest Service Road had not been plowed! This is a very narrow road (two-way) in some places. The dilemma I had was there was only one set of tire tracks in the 2 feet of snow. I continued to press on but inevitably came head on with multiple other vehicles! Managed to dance around all of them but I knew that the road continues to get narrower ahead prior to the destination trails! It was at this point I thought it wise not to continue however, I did make it to the Oxbow Lake Loop nature trail! Told myself "Perfect" this is what's meant to be! The trail was covered in about a foot of snow, but I pressed on. Turned out to be one of more peaceful hike I've been on! I hope you enjoy these scenes as much as I did! Some scenes were captured near or a little bit off the Middle Fork Road. You just pull off and there they are! The views from this road are amazing! Hope you enjoy the calming, peaceful winter scenes, sights and sounds! Some notes from previous journeys the Pratt River trail: As soon as one steps foot on this trail, majestic views abound. River, mountains, peaks and this time of year, wildflowers abound! I've journeyed on this trial multiple times to Stegosaurus Butte, Rainy Lake-Creek Trails and one time continued down the Pratt River trail to the end. Calling it the Pratt River trail is a misnomer because it doesn't actually go to the Pratt River! This time I purposed to look for "social trails" along the first half of this trail. Found multiple trails with very pleasant with stunning views of the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River valley and surrounding majestic mountains-peaks. I didn't look for "social trails" on the second half which is in my opinion, not so pleasant. It leads you away from the views and river and takes you into the very thick underbrush! It ends prior to reaching the Pratt River and is a bit disappointing! It's like whoever made this trail gave up or ran out of money! As always, this journey provided an opportunity to reflect on "Letting go of how I expected life's journey to be and embrace it as it is" Easier to say than do! Thanks for reading!
