The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said Friday that about 100 cats were rescued from a single apartment in Woonsocket. The RISPCA was caring for the cats at its facility in East Providence. Todd Cramer, the president of the RISPCA, said the cats appear to be in fairly good condition, well fed and well cared for -- but there were so many, in such a small space.
