All that remains now are crumbling foundations, rusty equipment, and a canyon carved in solid rock. But, behind these ruins is the tale of a people who called this place home, and built a legacy in stone. Join television journalist Mike Landis as he uncovers the people and product behind Phenix. He investigates the chain of events that led to the town falling silent nearly overnight, while exploring the legacy that will last for generations. A case in point includes this project- ‘Phenix: The Life and Legacy of a Town Lost.’  Mike spent much of his childhood in Ash Grove, MO, just a stone’s throw from Phenix. Some of his earliest memories include visiting the old quarry, and being captivated by the silent ruins of the once-prosperous community.
