SOUNDBITE: (English) Nirupama Rao, Indian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson: "Initial investigations reveal that the apprehended terrorist is Anjuman Sohail, resident of Kotli in Pakistan occupied Kashmir and he belongs to the Hizbul Mujahideen. He claims to have infiltrated from Kotli in March 2001 and was now apparently part of a group tasked to target a newly constructed Hindu temple in Rajouri." 10. Wide of briefing room STORYLINE: The Indian Army claims to have killed three separatist guerrillas and arrested a fourth during clashes in Indian-controlled Kashmir late on Friday. A soldier and a policeman were also killed in the fighting, which occurred in the Rajouri district, 160 kilometres from Jammu, near the line of control. According to the Indian Defence Ministry five columns of army and Jammu and Kashmir police moved into the village of Chhawa acting on information from locals. One guerrilla was killed in the initial encounter and the dead bodies of two more were recovered in search operations on Saturday morning. Another militant was apprehended while trying to flee. The militant was identified as Anjuman Sohail, later claimed that he was a resident of Kotli in Pakistani Kashmir. He claimed to have been trained by Pakistan' s ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) agency. Foreign ministry spokesperson Nirupama Rao said Sohail was believed to belong to the banned separatist group Hizbul Mujahadeen. According to the Indian Defence Ministry, one soldier and one policeman were killed in the encounter. Three other soldiers were wounded. Indian security forces recovered five AK47 rifles, two pistols, two radios and a quantity of ammunition.
