Coloma, CA Rafting Documentary 1993

Short documentary from 1993 covering the history of Coloma, CA, and the surrounding areas, with a focus on the popularity of whitewater rafting on the South Fork of the American River. Some of the obstacles seen in this video no longer exist. Over the past 30 years, and hundreds of thousands of rafters over that time, dozens of people have been injured or killed by some of these more intense obstacles seen in the video. As the county/state saw fit they decided, with some of the obstacles, to blow them up with dynamite, making them far easier to navigate. My father was a rafting guide at this time, which is how I got my hands on this video. He makes an appearance at about the 10:30 mark as the guide on the back of the raft. I did not find any evidence of the production company of this video existing currently, but I do not claim any copyright on this.
