Tom playing his composition at a house concert in the home of Chip Lusby, Sutter Creek Ca. Chip provides lodging for musicians during the annual August Ragtime Festival. Several years ago when I believe Pepper Rae came early to help get the place ready for the musicians, a skunk was found dead on the property. Several mornings later, Tom Brier was playing this fantastic tune on the spot........Chip heard him playing it and wanted it notated......Tom on returning home tried to remember what he had been improvising. He notated it and named it "SKUNK HOLLOW". He gave Chip a copy which is now enlarged on top of the piano Tom is playing, and I scan a shot of it at 2:06 of the video. Great time was had by all in attendance. VIdeo is good but doesn't translate to the live energy at the performance.
