Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail | A fun day out ?

Located in the heart of the Forest of Dean. This unique 4 mile trail is home to 16 permanent pieces of artwork and is free to walk. The art is reflective of the forest and it's history with well marked footpaths. The trail starts from the Beechenhurst carpark and cafe (GL16 7EJ), it is pay and display although the trail itself is free, however, we started a little way down the road from a free carpark close to the Cyril Hart Arboretum (GL16 7EL). The trail leads you in a circular walk, it is 4.5 miles when started from Beechenhurst carpark, you can also buy a map here or download one for free from the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trust website . The sculptures were all so incredible in our opinion, thoughtful, honest, stunningly beautiful in their own way, and each one provided a sense of the Forest of Dean's soul, its past, present and even future. We particularly liked the piece called 'Cathedral' as it was so out of place yet fit in perfectly, so colourful and yet somehow blended into its setting. We loved it! This is a fantastic trail, lots of alternative accessible paths for those who may have difficulties going too off-piste.
