In this first episode of the MOAD series, I challenge the common assumption that university is primarily about acquiring knowledge and earning a qualification. While information and credentials matter, they are not the core of what higher education is designed to test. University is formative. It reshapes how you think, how you read, how you write, and how you position yourself in relation to knowledge. From the first year onward, students are not simply evaluated on how much content they can accumulate, but on how they exercise judgment under academic constraint. In this episode, I unpack the difference between information intake and reasoning exposure, between demonstrating coverage and organising thought, and between completing requirements and assuming intellectual responsibility. This is the beginning of a 12-part series unpacking MOAD and the hidden epistemic logic of the university. #MOAD #AcademicFormation #OwnershipOfReasoning #EpistemicAccountability #WalterMethodMentorship
