Powell Hall is one of America’s most acoustically renowned and visually stunning concert halls—and home to your St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. We’re renovating and expanding the 99-year-old civic treasure to preserve and enhance it for generations to come. The new music center, to be completed in 2025, will make music more accessible for all and will deepen our impact for decades into the future. We hope you will join us in this once-in-a-generation initiative. This much-needed renovation—the first since 1968—preserves and enhances what you love about Powell Hall, including its architectural splendor, beautiful foyer, and world-class acoustics. You'll experience a more welcoming and comfortable environment in which to enjoy music. The 64,000-square foot expansion is designed to facilitate greater community connections. New public gathering areas and backstage space will enable our partnerships and artistic collaborations to flourish. A new, three-story lobby with overlooking terraces and enhanced amenities on all levels will connect to Powell Hall's renovated concert hall and foyer. Music for All: The Campaign for the SLSO is the institution’s largest fundraising ambition ever, with a goal of $155 million. The campaign will support the expansion and renovation of Powell Hall into a state-of-the-art music center that will build connections through the power of music, provide greater access, and offer an even more welcoming experience for all. Campaign support funds all project costs as well as adds to the SLSO’s endowment to sustain operations and programs in this creative hub and architectural landmark.
