National Development Minister Lawrence Wong responds to Worker's Party Chief Pritam Singh's question about government surpluses. Minister Wong noted that we have just enough resources to cover the government needs for this term of government, and expenditure will continue to rise beyond this term. Mr Perera also asked if the Government would consider evolving the position on reserves in line with changing conditions and the needs of our society. Minister Wong reiterated that we have settled on a framework that best meets the need of the current and future generations, so we should not be too quick to tweak the rules again.
