Offered for sale is this rare and unique 1984 Audi Ur Quattro finished in Alpine White over Creme leather interior. This rally-bred Ur Quattro is powered by a 2.2L Turbocharged 5-Cylinder mated to a 5-Speed Manual. The Ur Quattro is already a rare machine, with only about 11,000 produced over it's 11 year production run from 1980-1991, but this 1984 model year example is unique for another reason. According to documentation, this car was "specially built at the Ingolstadt factory for Dr. Hofer, the Director of the Quattro program, in anticipation of his attendance at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. [Audi would win the WRC Championship that year in a Ur Quattro]. A number of special factory modifications of the vehicle were undertaken at his personal direction including the addition of a yet to be released 1985 model year instrument panel/dashboard and a suspension upgrade with the installation of larger anti-sway bars. He drove the vehicle for approximately six hundred miles during his attendance at the Olympics. The vehicle was then returned to Vasek Polak Audi. Polak drove the vehicle for approximately seventy-five miles prior to [the original owner's] purchase from the dealership." A special Olympics decal was also applied to the doors. The original owner would keep the car until 2006 when it was moved to a collection in Arizona. The car moved to the DC area in 2013 and has lived in a private collection/museum since. The car is believed to be all original with no history of accidents. A binder containing service records, past ownership documents, notarized statement of ownership history, and detailed comments from the prior owners.
