0:00 In Sync 3:00 Un-Synchronized The Original Trilogy went through many revisions including Return of The Jedi, and as such I thought it would be neat to compare the difference ending sequences. So I have 2 presentations, one in sync, the other running unaltered, which is an ironic phrase. Just to eliminate any confusion: Project 4K83 is the closest High-Definition source for the original Theatrical Version. The first Special Edition came out in 1997, in which Yub Nub was changed to the Victory Celebration Theme. Added shots of Besbin, Tatooine and Coruscant were included. Sebastian Shaw as Anakin's ghost. The 2004 Special Edition Update swapped out Sebastian Shaw for Hayden Christensen. Naboo was also inserted just before Coruscant. The Senate building and Jedi Temple were also inserted into Coruscant. The 2011 Blu-ray Editions featured additional changes throughout the film. So for accuracy sake, despite the ending matching 2004's Version, the 2011 was the last "Special Edition". In 2019 Disney released a 4K colour-corrected transfer of all 6 films. So Lucas' changes remained, but technically speaking, 2019 is "Canonical", even though it's ending is a 4K copy of a Blu-ray copy of a 2004 copy. Does that make sense?!
