Brian Mullen despite wanting to come back and still under contract with the Isles, would not play another game in the NHL due to his stroke. Soderstrom would be traded to the Isles from Philly for Ron Hextall months after this aired. He would finish his NHL career with the Isles, but it was forced to be cut short when early in the 1996-97 season his condition forced him to leave a game after playing a only a minute. He left the NHL and finished his hockey career in his native Sweden.
