To grow #radishes at home, the first step is to prepare the soil. It must be loose and airy to allow the plants to develop large roots. Start by mixing composted chicken manure, rice husks, and eggshells into the soil for added nutrients and to improve soil structure. Once the soil is ready, create raised beds and smooth the surface to prepare for sowing. Sow radish seeds with a spacing of about 15cm per seed, and cover them with soil. Then, add a layer of dry grass on top to retain moisture and protect the seeds from heavy rain. Water the soil gently every morning to encourage faster germination. After one week, the seedlings will sprout, and you don’t need to do much other than continue watering daily. After about three weeks, the plants will need more nutrients. You can supplement with wood ash to provide potassium and improve soil aeration. In about 1.5 months, the radishes will begin to form, and you should remove any yellowing leaves to help the plants focus their energy on the roots. After two months, the radishes will be ready for harvest. At this point, you can start picking the radishes, and if you have a lot, you can share them with others.
