The Cathedral rang to the tune of "there's only one Ricky Hatton" played by a brass band outside the door, as family, friends and fellow boxers paid tribute to a man whose courage and charisma made him one of Britain’s most beloved sporting heroes. Outside the Cathedral, the streets were lined with fans decorated in Ricky Hatton merchandise, clutching boxing gloves and donning Manchester City shirts. I spoke to fans outside, who shared their memories of Ricky Hatton. Stories of meeting him local cafes, parties in Tenerife and watching him ringside.
