Statement of Need Many clinicians do not routinely follow clinical practice guidelines or are unaware of new treatment modalities which will result in improved health outcomes. Providing education opportunities in targeted areas as well as adult specialty areas should improve a physician’s knowledge base and patient outcomes. Objectives At the conclusion of this offering, the participant will be able to: • Review the current pathophysiology, epidemiology, and nomenclature of uterine fibroids. • Discuss an overview of the latest insights into the causes, prevalence, and classification of uterine fibroids. • Analyze how different presentations and diagnostic strategies are influenced by the context of each case. • Examine current management options for uterine fibroids. • Evaluate the various treatment options available today, including their effectiveness and application in clinical practice.
