As we welcome the amazingly talented Buex to the label for his upcoming Symmetry EP, we asked him to give us promo mix of the tunes he's into atm and of course the 2 tracks from his forthcoming EP which is being released on August 30th 2024 on the Sample Culture London bandcamp page. https://sampleculturelondon.bandcamp.com Buex is the first Artist to be released on Sample Culture London other than the owner, Vers-e-tyle, who provided the music for the first 8 releases. We think Buex's amazing EP is a perfect start of our new Dubplate Culture series that will highlight a range of amazing producers from around the world. You can find Buex's Artist Bio below :) Artist Bio: BUEX is a beat maker hailing from Perth, Western Australia. From being involved on the graffiti scene and electronic music from his early teens in the early 90's, BUEX has never strayed too far from a creative output tied to beat and street culture ever since. Getting into DJing on the mid 90's when a friend was selling his belt drive turntables, BUEX found a real passion for music and eventually stopped his graffiti and concentrated more on collecting and mixing beats. Having a wide of taste throughout his teens loving music from Electro to Jungle, Techno to Triphop, Dub to Rock, this all helped cement music as the linchpin for the next 25+ years and a way to never become jaded or stuck in a style. BUEX started writing beats in the early 2000's using drum machines and borrowed samplers and eventually started a studio in the mid 2000's accumulating in some small digital releases. Having played festivals and raves for a number of years and opening for the likes of Adam Freeland, Mark Rae, Evil 9 among others. BUEX took a step back from the scene to concentrate on family life for a while in around 2010 but was never able to completely shake the music bug and eventually started his Eat The Rich Recordings imprint in 2001. Primarily to put out his own music with creative control enabling him to be able to keep a variety of music outputs, although still primarily break beat driven. Having always had a fondness for breaks and sample manipulation, along with synth sound design, BUEX has been re involved with the Perth's Jungle and Drum and bass scene has has tracks gain attention from artists such as Dead Mans Chest, Double'O' and Jaise among many others others, and interest from labels such as Subtle Audio, Bustle Beats and Sample Culture LDN.
