Written by Ray Whitley. Engineered by Rick Hall. From the stereo LP, “Presenting The Tams” Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia the five-man Tams first charted in 1962 with the Joe South song, “Untie Me”. The following year they signed with ABC and were back on the Hot-100 with “What Kind Of Fool (Do You Think I Am)”. This title was also a cut on their first LP, “Presenting The Tams”, which was recorded at the Fame studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Other tracks included the double sided follow-up, “You Lied To Your Daddy”/”It’s All Right (You’re Just In Love)”, the Dan Penn song, “Close To Me” and the Tommy Roe penned, “You Might As Well Forget Him”. Ray Whitley wrote some great songs for the Tams: “What Kind Of Fool (Do You Think I Am)” and “Hey Girl Don’t Bother Me” being among them.
