(rest of your description here)I attempted a full winter stealth camping mission at a Meijer Supercenter in Michigan, and the temperature dropped to 18°F. What was supposed to be a simple overnight turned into one of the coldest and strangest urban stealth camp experiences I’ve done so far. I started by exploring the woods behind the Meijer, thinking I’d camp back there… until I found the old train tracks where multiple accidents have happened. The whole area instantly felt creepy, and with the extreme cold, I switched plans and set up for a truck camping overnight instead. Before going inside the store, I found out my radiator was leaking in the freezing Michigan winter. I grabbed a bottle of stop leak from Meijer and talked about the risks, cold-weather failures, and why using the radiator stop leak in winter is tricky. It added a whole new layer to this survival-style trip. For my winter camping setup, I used a simple budget system: lunchbox + paint trays to fill truck gaps, sleeping mat, fleece, my wife’s sleeping bag, backpacking pillow, and Hot hands warmers. For dinner, I cooked chicken pot pie and ramen inside the truck using the JetBoil — real, raw truck-life cooking. Once it got darker, I moved the truck to the main lot to blend in for the night. By morning, the entire truck was frozen solid. The windows were iced over, the air was freezing, and it felt like an actual cold-survival challenge. I packed up around 6:04 AM and headed home. This is real stealth camping, real Michigan winter, no fancy van build — just a normal guy trying to stay warm in a freezing parking lot.
