The Bedford CA, especially the Mk1 Bedford CA with the split two-piece windscreen, is definitely in my top three of classic vans of the 1950s/1960s era. The first CAs went on sale in 1952 and continued being produced in various configurations and wheelbase lengths until 1969 when the new CF took over. The Bedford CAS was the short wheelbase version, the CAL was the long wheelbase. The Mk1 Bedford CA has the two-piece windscreen. The Mk2 CA has a shallow one-piece windscreen, and the final Mk3 version has a much deeper single screen, grilles also varied throughout production but the style of windscreen is the easiest way to differentiate the three main versions produced. I've included a few original b&w photos from the 1950s, the majority though are photos I've taken over the last 20 or so years. Vans, pickups, tippers, minibuses ("Workobus"), campers (including "Dormobiles") and rare "canopy" versions are all to be found here, some in great restored condition, others very much in "barn find" or "hedge find" condition. Hopefully this will prove of interest to anyone out there with a soft spot for classic vans of the 1950s and 1960s, classic British vans in particular.
