C8 Review: • Begode C8 Review - Tron Wheel Falcon review: • Видео A2 Review: • Begode A2 Review: The Assasin at 500 miles Unboxing Video: • Bye A2, hello Mten5p. unboxing Learn to ride an Euc series: • Learn Euc part 1: turning on and mounting Text: Once I saw a video of Tep riding the mten5p with power pads, I knew I had to get one to replace the dying assassin a2. My first impressions of the mten5 is that it looked rugged and clean with a nice silhouette. I definitely did not want a small wheel that looks silly and weak. The Mten5p is a beefy lightweight 10" wheel that can go up to 30mph with a strong 1200w high speed and high torque motor. The low and grippy pedals give it a low center of gravity that allows for a stable wheel when going fast around turns or slow around pedestrians allowing you to even stop for a few seconds in a stand still while traffic passes. The pedals are nice and big and as you see, I am barely on it so riding this with grippy shoes is a must or you'll slide off. It does eat up the bottom of your shoes though and I go through a pair of shoes every other month. Mounting, unmounting, and riding with one leg is also easy with its 11x3" tubeless tire. I ride at 30psi for its playfulness but if it's wet or icey, I bring the psi down to 20. This tire doesn't seem to hold air that great but I do check the pressure every days. There was even a few times where the psi was 5 and it still rode great. The lower the pressure, the more stable the wheel becomes. Too much pressure will make it wobble easier at high speeds. I did immediately remove the stock pads after a ride through the hallway and put on some cheap small 3d printed generic power pads. The pads allow you to jump but more importantly, able to control it with ease as if it's part of your body. This also allowed me to learn to slide, skate, pendelum, 180, and ride backwards with minimal injuries. This makes it easier at intersections when you need to decide if you 1. step down and wait. 2. circle out. or 3. pendelum once or twice. I mainly use the wheel now to walk my dog and backup wheel so I don't usually charge more than once a week with the 750 watt batteries. I usually get about 20 miles before it starts to get low but I honestly like to keep her charged at 90% for maximum power for safety and speed. The 50s Samsung batteries feel very powerful and since you are getting so much power per weight, the mten5p definitely punches above its weight class. With more power going through the board and this being a first generation wheel, many people had their motherboard cutout but after the replacement, it has been fixed. Fortunately, I was going slow when it happened to me at 7mphs. The trolly handle is easy to pull up and out and push around since it is so light. It does move weird and doesn't lock but that never bothered me. The trolly handle needs to be velcrowed down or you'll get a rattling noise every time the road isn't perfect. I also dropped the wheel down the stairs by accident and it made the trolley handle janky. Each drop of the wheel further degrades the quality of the trolley handle. You can just tighten the screws but the trolley frame will be permanently bent. For the painful sharp edges under the handles, I used a shoe sole and duct tape to make it feel comfortable enough to carry for long distance. I need this to be comfortable because I have to carry this up and down the stairs every time I leave the office which can be up to 5 times a day. At 40 pounds, its relatively lightweight for the power you're getting and its easily stored under a desk or in a trunk. I often take it with me if I will be working on campus that involves going to multiple buildings. Most of the time, I don't even lock it up and just lean it against the building or on its kickstand. Surprisingly, I even had a director ask if I wanted to bring it into their building for safe keeping. Night time riding is fun if you're on the sidewalk but don't expect cars to see you. Its bright enough for slow speeds and when pointed down, doesn't blind people. The taillight is a bit on the weak side but its functional. The speakers are surprisingly good but who really uses it except for silly moments or testing. The surrounding lights actually looks futuristics with the red glow that slowly dims and brightens. Limitations: Too slow for the streets. The falcon can do it but mten5p needs perfect pavement to keep up on the street but its insanely easy to step off and pick up onto a curb. Having no suspension forces your body to take in every pebbles and rough surfaces. I got used to it but my body always ached. Don't try to sit on it. You can for a very short period but it hurts and its just silly especially with the handle being shoved up in ya. I had padded hip pads when I was test sitting on it.
