Mumbai First hosted a panel discussion titled “Mumbai @75 - Governance Chronicles”, the final session in a 3- part discussion series inviting eminent speakers to recall the journey of the city of Mumbai over the past 75 years. This session focused on Mumbai's governance challenges and solutions toward a more efficiently governed city. The panel discussion covered various aspects of Mumbai’s governance from dealing with multiple issues like decentralising and empowering local authorities, empowering ALMs, and the potential for a single governing authority with imaginative leadership for the city’s future. The panellists participating in the discussion were: Mr Shailesh Haribhakti (Chairman, Haribhakti & Associates) Mr Praveen Pardeshi (Former Municipal Commissioner, MCGM) Mr R. M. Premkumar (Former Chief Secretary, Govt. of Maharashtra) Dr Himanshu Burte (Associate Professor, Centre for Urban Science and Engineering, IIT Mumbai) Ms Nandini Dias and Mr Sanjay Ubale, Board Members of Mumbai First moderated the session.
