The EndoCompass project is in full swing, and while working on it, we realised there were two grand challenges of today that needed to be tackled in the context of endocrine science - the changing environment and the artificial intelligence renaissance. To gain insight into these topics, we invited leading European experts to two webinars, initially aimed at the EndoCompass workgroups, which we are now sharing with you! This is the first webinar, on the exposome of endocrine disease. Held on 15 November, Dr. George Downward and Prof. Sylvain Sebert unpacked the complex interplay between environmental factors and endocrine diseases. Dr. Downward, an expert in environmental and planetary health, shared valuable insights from the EXPANSE project, emphasizing urban health dynamics. Prof. Sebert, with his extensive work on life-course epidemiology, discussed the LongITools project and its implications on understanding cardio-metabolic disease trajectories. Their combined perspectives painted a holistic view of the environmental exposome's impact on endocrine health. Both sessions were marked by engaging presentations and fruitful discussions, now available for viewing. These webinars serve as crucial primers for those interested in the environmental factors influencing endocrine conditions and the transformative role of AI in endocrinology.
