The song is about how the devotee feels desolate without his Guru and that his spiritual practice is incomplete without Gurudev Yogananda ’s presence. He meditates on his Guru day and night and seeks his blessings and feels peaceful. He also longs to have a glimpse of his Guru. He calls Gurudev Yogananda the greatest of all and a Jagat Guru who guides the world. The song is melodious and rendered in a devotional manner. It has touches of Indian Classical (Hindustani) Music in the form of Bol Alaap towards the end. I thank Amit Ji for his input in editing the song and Basant Ji for the beautiful Music Arrangement. The Accompanists and Chorus singers have done a commendable job. About the Album: The album 'Guru Saath Yoganand' is in loving memory of my dearest and revered father Sri Pulin Ranjan Dhar Chowdhari. My Gurudev and my father have been the source of inspiration for this Album. All the songs in the Album 'Guru Saath Yoganand ' are dedicated to our Beloved and Divine Gurudev. Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda and this album mark the auspicious occasion of the 125th Birth Anniversary of Sri Sri #ParamahansaYogananda. Paramahansa Yogananda is one of the greatest Spiritual Gurus and has millions of followers all over the world. Each and every song has been composed in praise of Gurudev and all his followers will be able to connect personally with the songs in the album. The album has 10 original melody compositions. Lyrics of 7 songs are penned by me and the lyrics of 3 songs are by renowned poet Brahamanand. The album starts with a Ganesh Vandana followed by an introduction to our Guru (voice-over in English) and is followed by a Guru stotra and then an introduction to Gurudev (voice-over in Hindi). Some of the finest musicians have accompanied on Dhol, Tabla, Sitar, Santoor, Esraj, Keyboards, flute, violin, guitar, drums, and other instruments. The songs are a mixture of Hindustani classical, contemporary and folk. Keeping in mind the Global Audience the accompanying music is a mix of east and west but predominantly Hindustani. The album has classical touches in the form of Bol alaap, Tarana as well as medium paced contemporary melodies. The Title track also has a touch of folk so that the common and average man can connect with the rhythm and melody. Jai Guru!
