In this video, Jeff opens his LG gram 17 notebook, adds a 1TB m.2 SSD in the second SSD slot to expand his memory next to the 512GB solid state drive and replaces the Ram chip with a 32GB chip. You may be wondering if you can simply add another SSD to the current SSD to expand your memory. I purchased a Samsung 970 EVO 1TB SSD to install alongside the existing 512GB SSD that came with my LG Gram 17. After opening up the laptop and adding a second hard drive I was able to open computer management and was able to format the second drive for use expanding the amount of memory available for video editing and graphic work inside my laptop. ▶️ Did this video help you? Video Overview: Create a Windows Recovery Drive in case you run into problems Uncover hidden screws and gently remove the LG Gram laptop bottom cover Locate the 2 SSD Hard Drive Slots and remove screw for empty slot Insert your additional SSD, making sure its secure Replace with upgraded RAM chip and make sure its secure Gently replace cover and restart the laptop Go to Computer Management and click on Disk Management to see SSD’s Initialize your new SSD Right click on SSD and create a new Volume using the New Simple Volume Wizard Go to Ram and verify new ram is installed Once you’ve verified everything is working then replace case screws, covers, rubber feet Disclaimer: Due to factors beyond the control of Tinker Forward, I cannot guarantee against improper use or unauthorized modifications of this information.
