This video goes into detail regarding the overall flow and design aspect of the manifold along with proper use. One area not discussed is "How the valves are controlled." They are controlled by the actuator spring pressure on the manifold itself and that is it. It is VERY simple and HIGHLY effective. Simply place springs inside the valve actuators that are rated in accordance to an effective area of the smaller turbochargers turbine pressure ratio and that will do it! It is because the Hlava Sequential-Turbo Manifold provides a near 1-1 ratio between pre-turbo exhaust and boost pressure that this works the best. This system REMOVES the requirement of any boost solenoid and wastegate(when used correctly). However, a mechanical boost solenoid (or EBC solenoid) could be used in conjunction with a wastegate at the secondary turbocharger if you wanted to make sure you didn't go above a specified boost level at the top of your RPM band. But if you choose a turbocharger that has an efficiently effective boost level range that you're comfortable with then that won't be needed. If you're not 100% certain how to read your turbochargers compressor map to determine efficient boost ranges of your selected secondary (LARGE) turbocharger don't hesitate to contact us through our website, or ask the nearest turbocharger tech you know. Garrett Motions Tech line can definitely help you out too. Simplify your tuning requirements maximize your turbocharging capabilities!
