*Turn on CC for some insightful commentary on recent progress!* Come along on a drive through Mississauga from back in February 1990. We start by going east on Dundas Street West at Mavis Road. We head to Hurontario Street, make a left and drive up to the city centre and Square One. Then, a tour around Square One via City Centre Drive, Duke Of York Blvd. and Rathburn Road West. We'll get back to Hurontario from Robert Speck Parkway and then drive north towards Highway 403. You'll be surprised as to how much empty space there is around here. It's now all high density downtown development, both residential and commercial. Things sure have changed quite a bit in the 35 years since this was filmed. Also, in the way that the video was filmed to begin with. This was shot with a VHS camcorder that we had rented from the video store (Cheap!). This was during the winter as well, with a pending snow storm arriving soon after this drive. Traffic was surprisingly light when compared to today, and even for back then as well, considering that this happened on a Saturday afternoon.
