Details of places visited by us during the day at Kochi, Kerala is given below for your ready reference. 1. Chinese Fishing nets - This one is the key attractions of Fort Kochi. Chinese Fishing Nets are an old way of catching fish. These nets are fixed on teak poles and bamboo. You will see 5 fishermen required to handle one fishing net. There are many Chinese Fishing nets installed at this spot . 2. St. Francis Church - Located at the Vasco De Gama square at Fort Kochi, this is one of the oldest churches built by the Europeans in India. Visit it for the rich architecture and history. 3. Jew Town - .It's a street full of antique shops selling unique souvenirs. This is the street which used to be dominated by Jewish people. Now there are barely 2-3 Jewish families left but it's a place you must visit to get a glimpse of the rich culture of Fort Kochi. 4. Pardesi Synagogue - More than a 100 yrs old building in the corner of Jew Town, you must visit this place to understand the arrival of Dutch and Jewish people in India. It houses many rare antiques. The synagogue (temple for Jewish people) woos many visitors and adds to the quaint charm of the Jew Town area in Fort Kochi.Closed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Jewish holidays. 5. The Mattancherry Palace- The Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace, is one of the most famous historical monuments in Kochi.It was originally built by the Portuguese in 1555 and later renovated by the Dutch in 1663 — that’s why it’s called the Dutch Palace today. 6. Kerala Folklore Museum – Kochi The Kerala Folklore Museum is a cultural treasure house that showcases the rich heritage, art, and traditions of Kerala.t’s not just a museum — it’s like stepping into a living storybook of Kerala’s history, architecture, dance, and folk art.It was founded by George Thaliath and his wife Annie George to preserve and promote Kerala’s traditional culture. #fortkochi #kerala #keralatourism
