Four Schindler 5500 elevators in a block of flats in northern Jakarta. This block, along with the other three (Tower 9 and 10) in the same complex, were built as an accomodation for the athletes participated in the 2018 Asian Games event. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, they were converted into an isolation facility for approximately two years. This video was taken in 2021. For some reason all four elevators stop at every two floors (odd floors), and those floors which are not served by these elevators are served by two fireman/service elevator located on each side of the tower which I didn't film them as they are strictly for staff only. Filming wasn't easy btw, as these elevators are used a lot every day and this was filmed during the pandemic, so I had to be very very careful while avoiding the crowds who would often squeeze themselves in the elevator despite the 5 persons maximum limit (per car). Sometimes I had to wait more than 10 minutes just to ride the elevator alone from the lobby! While these elevators are nice and efficient, however, they are in a bit of undermaintained state as I noticed quite a number of issues with them during my stay. For example, two out of the four elevators have voice announcement (which simply calls out the floor) but none of them actually work very well. In Elevator LP2, the voice only says "2nd floor" regardless of floor the elevator stops at, same goes to Elevator LP3 but it says "1st floor" instead. Another elevator has a wheelchair panel but it doesn't even work at all; the panel is loose from the wall, indicating that it is indeed broken and hasn't been fixed. Other issues worth noting here are broken light fixtures and non-functioning button panel on Elevator LP3, cars often do not level with the floor correctly, landing doors making weird sounds (as if the sills haven't been properly cleaned) and cracked hall indicator on the 7th floor. It's a shame to see these elevators are like this but I supposed it's due to the management that ran this place, who didn't take care the elevators quite well. Furthermore, the low cost environment, the nature of the residents and the lack of proper maintenance within the property also contribute to the deteoration of these elevators. It's just hideous seeing these, really. A bit of fact, every day one of these elevators (usually LP1 and 3) would always set into Reservation Mode for "logistic purpose". When this happens, the elevator will not respond to other calls and run independently, as well as both the "out of service" and "maintenance" lamp appear on the hall indicators. The barricated elevator that you see on the ground floor was actually running on this mode. To me it's most likely because of the odd floors stop configuration that gives the impression of slow to them.
