In this episode of Guitarchaeology with Pinetop Jackson, we research an old beat up Washburn acoustic found at a yard sale south of Seattle. Update: The research I had done when I made this video led me to believe this guitar was made in Japan. A few people questioned that. Thanks to Richard Bonneville for giving me concrete evidence...in 1988 the Washburn D-12 was made in Korea, not Japan. Richard worked in a shop that sold them! Further Update: Alright I was new in my research at the time I made this video, and said there was a connection with Washburn and Yairi. I've since tried to go back and find where I saw that and I cannot find anything, and at this point I think I must've read something wrong or my head made connections that it wanted to see. To set the record straight... THERE IS NO CONNECTION BETWEEN WASHBURN AND YAIRI OR ALVAREZ. In Guitarchaeology, there's so much convoluted text and misinformation, involuntary or otherwise, to sift through...I feel really bad that published such a bonehead & hasty conclusion. Still, I don't want to take the video down, because just having video footage of this old acoustic has historical significance. I don't have the guitar anymore, so I hope these edits in the description will sufficiently correct the incorrect information. I love you guys!
