It was a frigid February morning when I recorded this video, but the ride was worth it! It was it's first start since November. CLUB INSTAGRAM / riders_of_purdue (Youtube algorithm junk below) The 1994 Kawasaki ZX-7, also known as the Ninja ZX-7 or ZX750L, is a high-performance sportbike designed for both street and track use. Powered by a 749cc, inline-four, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine, it produces around 107-112 horsepower and 56 lb-ft of torque, delivering impressive speed and acceleration. The bike features a 6-speed manual transmission and a twin-spar aluminum frame, contributing to its rigid yet lightweight structure. With fully adjustable 43mm inverted forks in the front and a monoshock in the rear, the ZX-7 is known for its stability and precise handling. It also comes equipped with dual front disc brakes and a single rear disc for strong stopping power. Weighing approximately 485 pounds (wet weight), the ZX-7 can reach a top speed of 150-160 mph. One of its standout design elements is the aggressive styling with a large ram-air intake, which not only enhances its bold look but also improves engine performance at high speeds. This model was also the foundation for the ZX-7R (RR) homologation special, which featured racing-oriented upgrades like flat-slide carburetors, a close-ratio transmission, and adjustable swingarm pivot points. Known for its combination of power, stability, and track-ready features, the 1994 ZX-7 remains a favorite among sportbike enthusiasts and collectors.
