1972 vintage Scotty Serra Highlander Travel Trailer (Canned Ham) project up for grabs. PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BEFORE ASKING ANYTHING. I AM GETTING TONS OF MESSAGES ABOUT THIS ASKING THINGS THAT ARE DESCRIBED BELOW!!!!!! I picked this up early in COVID in mid March 2020 as a project because I figured both me and my Girlfriend would be out of work for a bit and it would make a great project to keep us busy. As it turned out, we ended up working pretty much though the whole thing so had limited time to work on it. We have a motor home that we camp so we really don't need it and just don't have the motivation to put time into when we can put our time into camping the RV instead. I pulled this home with my 98 4 door Ford Explorer about 15 miles but the RGVW is listed as 3,000 lbs so you would want to have a rig that can pull 3,500-4,000 comfortably . It's about 14' long not including the hitch so it's the largest and tallest that they made. The highlander is great because it has nice extra head room. I'm 6' 2" and can stand comfortably everywhere but the front dinette / bunk area. The way it's setup it COULD sleep 6. 2 adults in the front dinette that folds down into a bunk, 2 in the aft lower bunk, and one or two in the aft upper bunk. The 2, bench seat cousins make the mattress once the table is folded down up front. The large rear has a new, still in plastic mattress and the upper bunk has a single mattress. The shower is a stand up with sink and mirror cabinet and has lugs for a small Colman type chem toilet. I do have one that can go with it if the asking price is accepted. Lots of cabinet storage space. All the doors are off for paint but I have them all and all the hardware as well. Kitchen has an oven and 3 burner range. The counter top, sink and sink fixture have all been replaced with new but are not glued / screwed in. The fixture is a sprayer type fixture. The camper has Propane heat, hot water, oven, light and fridge. The fridge also runs off 110 AC but is not tested nor are any of the propane systems . DC lights and fan are installed but there is no battery system installed. AC lights have been tested and work as well as outlets. There is a 12 gallon or so fresh water tank under the rear bunk and water system is air over with a hand pump by the kitchen sink. Besides the kitchen counter top, sink and fixture, I replaced about 1/2 of the roof structure, foam and inside skin that was water damaged and dry rotted and now it's tight. I also replaced the old sky light with a new one with a 12v fan / roof vent and metal flashing over the seam. Everything was insulated with 3/4 foam and sealed with Silicone. I have new red light lenses for the back but not for the front. The tires hold air but are old. The back windows need to be buttoned up and a new outside trunk storage door needs to be made as the old one's wood rotted away from the leaking roof. All of the inside doors have been painted Scotty Teal blue and I have a can of egg shell white to paint the inside before the doors go back on. The part of the roof I replaced is already painted white on the inside. There are no gray or black water holding tanks. Just a hook up point but a potable holding tank can be bought with wheels and hook up with wheels that you just toat down to the dump station. It's a neat, solid Vintage Tiny house on wheels camper project that could be finished out how ever the new owner likes in pretty short order without major work . Metal sheeting won't degrade with time like modern fiberglass ones . It does have electric brakes but I have not tested them or the lights either. Title is clear and in my name. Great project. Most of the major heavy work is done, just needs final fitting out. My plan was to ditch the fridge for a small dorm fridge with a window AC unit underneath. Install a Vintage teal color Microwave and a 12V water pump and battery. The oven could also be tossed for a 3 in one toaster oven / griddle coffee maker or just left as is and an awning can be added . Lots of options . Flooring is OEM and in good shape.
