UNLOCK THE CITY! - Project Video

UNLOCK THE CITY! is an international cultural urban regeneration project, co-funded by Creative Europe Culture programme of the European Union. Through theatre performances, workshops, public meetings and research activities, UNLOCK THE CITY! has explored the relationship between theatre, urban landscape and community, contributing to imagine new ways of living in and interpreting the post-pandemic city. The three-year journey of UNLOCK THE CITY! (2023-2026) is narrated by the voices of the various theatrical and academic organisations that have joined forces to create this multidisciplinary project. The programme took place in six European countries (Belgium, Italy, Norway*, the Czech Republic, Romania and Spain) and involved four theatrical institutions with a strong international presence (the leading partner Piccolo Teatro di Milano - Teatro d'Europa, the Teatre Lliure of Barcelona, the Teatrul Tineretului of Piatra Neamț and the Toneelhuis of Antwerp), two expert academies of Performing Arts and theatrical programming (Østfold University College & Norwegian Theater Academy of Fredrikstad and The Academy of Performing Arts, AMU of Prague), as well as a university specialised in the study of the landscape (the Politecnico di Milano). UNLOCK THE CITY! è un progetto internazionale di rigenerazione urbana su base culturale, co-finanziato dal programma Cultura di Europa Creativa dell'Unione Europea. Attraverso performance teatrali, workshop, assemblee pubbliche e attività di ricerca, UNLOCK THE CITY! ha esplorato il rapporto tra teatro, paesaggio urbano e comunità, contribuendo a immaginare nuovi modi di abitare e interpretare la città post-pandemica. A raccontare il viaggio triennale di UNLOCK THE CITY! (2023-2026) sono le voci delle diverse realtà teatrali e accademiche che, alleandosi, hanno dato vita a questo progetto multidisciplinare. UNLOCK THE CITY! si è articolato in sei paesi europei (Belgio, Italia, Norvegia*, Repubblica Ceca, Romania, Spagna) e ha coinvolto quattro istituzioni teatrali dalla forte vocazione internazionale (il capofila Piccolo Teatro di Milano - Teatro d'Europa, il Teatre Lliure di Barcellona, il Teatrul Tineretului di Piatra Neamt e il Toneelhuis di Anversa), due accademie esperte nella progettazione scenica (Østfold University College & Norwegian Theater Academy di Fredrikstad e The Academy of Performing Arts, AMU di Praga) e un’università specializzata nello studio del paesaggio (il Politecnico di Milano).
