I can go to the harbor freight and buy something similar, but where is the fun of making stuff? ;) To implement this project I used: The Copper tube 22 mm x 330 mm -The Handlebar motorcycle The M5 threaded rod 340mm two plastic plugs 6 neodymium magnets 20mm x 3mm (You see eight on the video, but I removed two because there were too many of them.) 12 m10 washers 12 m5 washers 9 nuts m5 plastic m5 cap with the handle I am convinced that if you do not have a lathe, you can also make such a magnetic collector for chips. All you need to do is find the washers with an outside diameter of about 20-21 mm. Washers are needed for the collector to work properly. Thanks to them, all magnetic forces are transferred to their sides (like a welding magnet). Yes, I have been drilling neodynamic magnets. I have no idea if you can do it or not, but they work properly and nothing bad happened to them (except two, because they crack during drilling: D) When you will re-drill them, remember not to overheat them, because they will lose their properties. The whole construction works really well and I can definitely recommend it. I am sorry that recently I have been adding simple and uncomplicated projects, but I had a renovation of the workshop, beside I am working on a very interesting vehicle and I do not have too much time.
