A short and sweet video looking at the heater control valve fitted to the Rover 25 and MG ZR - a really simple bit of kit, but its plastic construction means they occasionally fail with catastrophic consequences (as this one did). Let's have a look at how they work, and how you can replace yours! Notes: The coolant bleeding procedure detailed is for the K Series (petrol) engines - the L Series (Diesel) is pretty much self-bleeding. I realise I didn't touch much on the valve's location - it's bolted to the bulkhead down the back of the engine, and is easily accessible on all variants. When bleeding the cooling system, make sure you give the header tank a final top-up once you've finished.
