N-Scale Service 101: Atlas GP-7/9 (and similar) Teardown, Lube & Service

Today we're breaking down one of the most broadly produced and popular models ever available; the Atlas GP-7 locomotive! Due to the shared chassis design, this video will also guide you on many "GP" and "SD" series locomotives from Atlas covering the original 1990's blue&red stripe boxes, Atlas Classic black label, recent Silver and Gold series through ~2018 (when the chassis design changed for their new DCC/Sound models). I go into detail covering the design, quality, assembly and caveats of this locomotive and I hope you'll find my "101" classes helpful! Note, this will not cover the old (1980's) KATO-made GP's offered by Atlas, identifiable by their clunky truck-mounted couplers and offset/incorrect wheelbase. Those were based off a Kato sdesign shared with the RS-11 and similar (having "KATO" stamped on their fuel tanks) and will be covered in another video.
