Meet the Cage of Death. From its inception in 1999 to its last match to date in 2019, Cage of Death has been the biggest event to happen annually for CZW. Throughout time, Cage of Death has been used in various ways in terms of match type, whether that be 1v1, 3v3, 3 way dance, 4 way dance, 5v5, 6v6, you name it: they’ve probably done it. The match we’re talking about today will be the 6v6 match that took place in 2003 at Cage of Death 5, which also emanated from the old ECW arena in Philadelphia where CZW would frequent for most of the 2000s. Recently, I mentioned this match in my video detailing CZW’s founder John Zandig and in that video, I called it perhaps my absolute favorite deathmatch in the US due to it having a decent amount of storytelling (given you know the context) while also having insane shit happening constantly without it being gag-inducing to the casual viewer.
