How to grow microgreens indoors, you ask? It's super simple! Most items you already have at home. As shown in the video, all that's needed is a tray, soil or other grow medium such as coco coir, and seeds. The tray can even be substituted for a food container or an empty ice cream box. Since the microgreens seeds are ready for harvest in about a week, they do not need any nutrients. The seeds should be placed on top of the soil (not under the surface) and preferably pressed down to create contact between the soil and the seeds. The seeds germinate when in contact with moisture. Mist the soil and seeds with a spray bottle, watering can, or whatever you have at hand. A cup can be used in a pinch. Covering the moist soil and seeds with plastic wrap or a lid increases humidity and reduces evaporation. A closed moist environment increases the germination rate. The microgreens do not need light during the first few days. While light doesn't hurt them, it's not necessary either. If grown without light, the seedlings will have a white/yellow-ish color and after they are introduced to light, they will develop their true colors.
