Corey talks about expectations, external and internal dysphoria and her life after FFS, as well as advising future FFS patients to consult with different teams. She warns of assuming your experience and outcomes will be the same of as others you read about, especially regarding the unrealistic expectation that the surgery will completely eliminate all instances of dysphoria or misgendering. She highlights the fact that although the surgery improves this, it is not an end-all solution and recommends patients to continue self-awareness in order to reach peace with your own identity, be the goal to integrate as a cisgender woman or a proud trans woman. One key point she makes is when considering FFS Surgery, to try to create a diagram of your ideas of what you would like to change or not and to pay close attention to the nuances in results of different techniques and surgeons. Jari, as someone who hasn't had FFS yet, advises plenty of research, understanding what your true expectations are of your final look and taking time to find the team that bests suits your objectives.
