Remembering V T Rajshekar, Founding Editor, Dalit Voice
V T Rajshekar was the founding editor of Dalit Voice, a journal dedicated to the rights of, what he termed as, oppressed minorities of the world. Dalit voice started in 1981 and got published uninterruptedly till 2011. A vocal votary of alliance between Dalits and various other oppressed minorities. Dalit Voice was a powerful organ where Rajshekar, spoke with courage and conviction. His views were extremely unorthodox and several times looked offending to many but he did not care. He spoke about the issues of Blacks in the United States and other parts of the world. Many of the activists working in the Black movement wrote in the Dalit Voice. V T Rajshekar passed away on November 20th, 2024 at Mangalore at the age of 93. We organised this small online gathering of the people who knew him or were associated with him. A big salute to the memory of V T Rajshekar.
