BIOGRAPHY Salama Africa Dance Crew, founded in 2014 in Dowa District (Dzaleka Refugee Camp), is a vibrant team of over 14 active dancers and 30 trainees united by a mission to use dance for peace, cultural expression, and social change. The name "Salama" means peace, safety, and well-being-values that shape the crew's identity and performances, Inspired by Africa's rich heritage and a passion for movement, Salama Africa blends hip-hop, Afro, Amapiano, traditional, and salsa into emotionally charged performances. Their creativity and discipline make them not only dancers but also storytellers and cultural ambassadors. The crew's proudest moments include winning Malawi Got Talent (Crossroads), securing top positions in the Ka Jive Dance Competition, and winning two more national titles cementing their reputation as one of Malawi's most consistent and inspiring dance collectives.
