In 2015, I wanted to walk across America and go by way of the American Discover Trail. However, that trek seemed very intense and I wanted something more familiar so I chose to go north to south, from New York City to Florida using couchsurfing as a method of finding shelter and staying close to the Route 1 where food and resources were abundant. I started that trek on August 16, 2015 and I completed that 1000 mile journey in 198 days having 98 strangers, who welcomed me into their homes, who provided shelter, an occasional meal, and at times, sharing each other’s personal story. My North-South trek was completed on March 2, 2016. ☺️ Since then, I’ve continued to live from my backpack named Osprey, 🎒 traveling and working seasonally in restaurants, 🍽️ I sailed, lobstered, and explored the Florida Keys, 🦞 ⛵️ traveled to several Latino countries, but continued to dreaming about the time when I get back on the road again.  11 years later, my walk across America will come to fruition, and if the Divine has It’s way, I will walk from the East Coast to the West Coast beginning mid March commencing in Savannah Georgia. 🍑 It’s not a race, it’s a walk, and though my funds are limited, I am confident that I will find the resources necessary to provide for myself along the way. Day work for extra money, 💰 soup kitchens to feed my belly, 🍲 and as far as shelter goes, well, I got a sleeping bag if churches and people don’t receive me. ⛪️ I hope you join me and experience what living in the Now and trusting the path is all about.
