"What number is this, Chip?" I hope that all my friends in the US are enjoying their three day holiday weekend. It's Labor Day here and I thought I'd post something short and sweet for the occasion. We're actually doing a little something today instead of tomorrow and I just popped back inside after manning the grill. Can you believe someone had me put halved peaches on the grill? And speaking of labor, I recently left the job I'd been at for nearly 14 years and started a new one last week. I'm not sure if this new place is a good fit or not, but I've got a few options available to me if it doesn't work out. It's a pretty big deal because I'm such a creature of habit and don't often make big changes like this, but I got tired of waking up in the morning, holding my head in my hands and saying, "Oh God, not again." I don't plan on doing that again for the remaining years that I work and I'm going to try and explore to find the "right" job for me. If anyone is curious, I'm a commercial truck driver with a Class B license. This means a straight truck, not a tractor trailer. I don't want anything to do with a big rig. I sort of fell into driving around 16 years ago and found that it agreed with me, so I stuck with it. I don't mind being by myself for extended periods of time. I've got lots of stuff to think about. "Daydream Believer" by The Monkees off of their album "The Birds, The Bees, And The Monkees" which came out in 1968 and featured, producer, Chip Douglas on bass. I was trying my best to channel Sarah Cooper during the intro. I played this song in the last band I was in before starting my YouTube channel. The band was comprised of bass, drums, guitar/vocals, and a female vocalist. The drums were well padded and had triggers on them. We used no amps on stage and played through the PA along with backing tracks, so all the keys, strings, horns, extra percussion, etc... were there. I always enjoyed playing this one. On this version, I even left the little "mistake" in during the fade out. I'm playing the '83 Aria Pro II Elite 1 through a SansAmp Bass Driver Ver. 2.
