To serve food for Thirunavakarasar, Aputhi Adigal sent his son to the garden to fetch a plantain leaf. when on this event, a snake bit the lad and he passed away. Not wishing to disappoint his guest, Aputhi Adigal covered the corpse of his son and tried to serve his mentor. But realizing the situation, Thirunavakarasar carried the corpse to the temple of Lord Shiva at Thingalur and revived the boy's life, signing and imploring the Lord with Thirupathigam, a divine hymn. Following this miracle, it is said that the devotees of Thingalur are double energized with Chandran's power. And so, even when poisonous snakes harm the devotees there are not affected.
